Congratulations to all students on their achievements, you have done Pres Care and yourselves proud.  With the success of graduation comes more challenges and opportunities in life.  We hope you face them both with the same determination you have done throughout your studies.

Regis Aged Care Pty Ltd (“Regis”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Regis Healthcare Limited, is pleased to announce that it has extended its provision of aged care to Tasmania, having today contracted to acquire aged care facilities and associated businesses from Presbyterian Care Tasmania.

Regis will assume ownership of these assets from 1 August 2017, subject to approval from the Department of Health.

The assets to be acquired comprise three aged care facilities in Hobart and Launceston, comprising 287 aged care places. A small number of retirement village units and home care packages are also included in the purchase.

Presbyterian Care Tasmania’s Chief Executive Officer, John Brooks said a key consideration in the agreement with Regis was to ensure that quality resident care would continue under new ownership.

“Our focus has always been to enhance the lifestyle of our residents. Their well-being and the quality of care and services they receive are paramount,” Mr Brooks said. “We also recognise and value the tremendous work of our staff and volunteers and the essential role they play in supporting and maintaining the well-being of our residents.

Regis has operated in Australia for over 20 years and operates 54 aged care facilities throughout the country.

“We are excited to add the Presbyterian Care Tasmania homes to our family across Australia,” Regis Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ross Johnston said.

“We are proud of our achievements and the addition of these assets will complement and expand our ability to deliver high standards of care to the aged care community in Australia. This acquisition is consistent with our strategy and we look forward to extending our provision of quality aged care into Tasmania.”

Regis currently has over 6,000 operational aged care places, five retirement villages, four home care services and four day therapy centers and employs in excess of 7,000 staff nationally.

Exploring ADARDS

japanese2Pres Care Hobart had a great visit from a contingency of aged care and health staff from various facilities and hospitals, keen to explore what ADARDS had to offer.

They were excited to see animals and the beautiful garden spaces that residents could wander within.  They asked lots of questions about how we run the facility and were fascinated by the craft display.

We are also grateful for their $300 donation to the facility.  The funds will be used to facilitate the lifestyle programs in ADARDS.

Decorating Christmas Bags

rsz_jtdcJohn Tooth Day Respite Centre (Hobart) clients had a lovely time making up and decorating bags to put in crafts that they have been making for Christmas to take home.  Included were Christmas goodies cooked up in the kitchen (caramel fudge).

Our Christmas hands Christmas tree that each client decorated with their own hand shape will be pulled apart and put onto the front of their bag.
